I'm Matt
My passion is in animation, creative direction, and concept development, however, I am always one to take on a versatile approach to my work. I have invested time to learn all aspects of design, from packaging to print, social media, typography, image retouching, and copywriting. I understand the importance of working within brand guidelines – having experienced working on notable co-brands, with global companies such as Pokémon, Adult Swim, The Simpsons, and Cadbury, ensuring that the product speaks in the visual tone of the brand while fulfilling the requirement of the brief. I have had the chance to grow skillsets that are outside of, but related to, the direct path of a graphic designer by being involved with project management, client liaison, managing multiple stakeholders, and working with global teams.
Background.
My design journey started at a young age, with my earliest interests being in anything artistic: painting, drawing, sculpting, and everything in between. This experimentation evolved over time and my focus shifted into Graphic Design. I studied a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication at Billy Blue College of Design and moved onto many internships prior to, and following my graduation. Through these internships, I further expanded my professional approach to design and was able to obtain a broader understanding of marketing. For the past five years, I have been a valued member of the Krispy Kreme Australia design team, with a portfolio of assets that have helped elevate some of Krispy Kreme’s celebrated campaigns.
Personal.
In my personal life, I enjoy freelancing to hone my design skills and challenge myself. I’m an avid movie buff and love dogs, I spend most of my time with my Frenchie Pims - who is always down for a walk or play. I'm excited to learn, find new challenges, and grow not only as a designer but in myself. I'm friendly, positive, and always professional. I value the importance of having, and being a positive cultural fit where I work and partake in building this. I would love to chat and see how we could work together.
